Kendra and Matt’s love story is woven into the very landscape of the Bay Area, so Cavallo Point, nestled at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge – the symbolic connection between their lives, was the perfect venue. Kendra lived in Sausalito, Matt in San Francisco. Long before they met, Matt would unknowingly bike past Kendra’s apartment. It took an online connection to bring them together, but once they crossed that bridge, there was no turning back.
Their wedding day dawned with a touch of excitement and adventure, much like their favorite pastimes of hiking and backpacking. Kendra got ready in the historic Frank House, where a playful twist of fate saw her dress locked inside a room. Cavallo Point’s team sprang into action, climbing ladders to ensure the bride could walk down the aisle. And what a vision she was: Kendra’s bridal look unique – a lace romper with full sleeves and an open back, paired with a flowing silk skirt that danced with the breeze, occasionally revealing those delicate lace details.
The couple’s first look was so touching. As Matt turned to see Kendra glowing in the soft sunlight, he was breathless. “She looked like an angel,” he later said—a memory that would become a cherished highlight of their day.
The ceremony unfolded on the Mission Blue Lawn, with panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge—a perfect backdrop for vows exchanged in front of family and friends. The sun peeked out on this perfect day! The bridesmaids stood to the side in soft seafoam green dresses. They carried petite bouquets filled with roses, astrancia, chamomile, ranunculus, dahlia, hellebores, and sweetpeas. Though Kendra’s beloved grandparents couldn’t attend, their recorded message of “These Hands” brought tears and a sense of profound connection. After saying “I do,” Kendra and Matt FaceTimed them, ensuring they were part of the joy.
The reception was a reflection of the couple’s warmth and creativity. Guests found their seats through an escort display of Maker’s Wine custom cans—a nod to Kendra’s own company. Under a canopy of hanging florals, heartfelt toasts filled the room, including a flawless, unscripted speech by Kendra’s sister. The dance floor was alive with lifts and twirls, starting with an unforgettable first dance. Later, Kendra slipped into a playful scalloped mini-dress, embodying the free spirit that Matt fell in love with. That evening, guests enjoyed pipping hot Lou’s Malnati’s Chicago pizza – one of Kendra’s favorites.
From start to finish, Kendra and Matt’s summer Cavallo Point wedding was a celebration of connection—between two people, two cities, and the countless moments that brought them together.
