Diece and Chris have contagious, fun, bubbly energy. They light up a room. Their laughter is infections, their energy is magnetic. They are loved by everyone that knows them. And they always go the extra mile to support and celebrate the people in their lives. It is no surprise that so many people showed up at Edgewood Tahoe on a frigid August day to celebrate them. Despite the weather (mid 40’s with rain) these two were all smiles – and their hearts were as warm as the summer sun! Truly, I was so proud of them!
Diece and Chris’s journey began in Chicago, where a chance meeting at a restaurant (where Diece worked) turned into a serendipitous reconnection at a charity ball. Soon, their story wove its way to San Francisco, and then to beloved Tahoe, where they would often escape with friends to the mountains they love so much. Choosing Edgewood, with its breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe, felt like a natural extension of their shared story.
Their wedding celebration took place over three days. A highlight of the welcome party was the candy bar filled with the couple’s favorite treats! Diece and Chris got engaged on the east coast last summer, so they opted for a “Nantucket meets Tahoe” theme. They played into this with the help of lush hydrangeas, a modern print incorporated into the linens (that also appeared in the envelope liners), bridesmaids dressed in classic navy, a raw bar during cocktail hour, and Diece’s timelessly elegant wedding dress.
Diece’s morning was spent in quiet anticipation, getting ready with her mother’s help. A tender first look with her father set the tone for the day, emotions running high as they both wiped away tears. Her elegant strapless gown with a V neck, complemented by Chanel shoes chosen by her father, reflected her timeless beauty.
The ceremony took place in the woods of Edgewood. The aisle was flanked with fluffy hydrangeas and Diece was escorted by her dad through a floral arch on her way to meet Chris at the altar. The moment Chris saw Diece, his eyes welled up. Guests, covered by clear umbrellas, watched as the wind played with Diece’s veil and the towering trees framed this emotional scene. Despite the brisk air and raindrops, the couple was present in that moment as they exchanged vows that were filled with laughter and heartfelt promises, a testament to their warmth and connection.
After being proclaimed husband and wife, the couple excitedly made their way to the grand atrium where the guests were wowed by the atmosphere that welcomed them for the rest of the night. Each table bore the name of a place meaningful to Diece and Chris—a reflection of their journey together. Bistro-style seating, a nod to their first meeting, added a personal touch. The space was alive with floral arrangements, twinkling sconce lights, and a buzz of joyous energy.
As the sun dipped behind the lake, it painted the sky in vibrant hues, and guests paused their meals to soak in the moment. Not long after, the dance floor opened and stayed busy for the rest of the night! Friends and family filled the night with boundless energy, toasting, twirling, and lifting Diece and Chris high into the air. The couple’s love story felt like a whirlwind of joy, laughter, and light—a feeling mirrored in every corner of the room.
Later, Diece changed into a short sequin dress, handed out custom white baseball caps with their initials and wedding date, and led the dance floor back into overdrive. The night was a blur of movement, music, spin the bottle, and celebration, a true reflection of the couple’s vibrant spirit.
Diece and Chris, for a couple so devoted to lifting others, it was a privilege to witness a day where the love you so generously give to others was reflected back at you tenfold. This was more than a wedding; it was a celebration of an inspiring couple that is so loved by everyone that knows you. It was a deep honor and privilege to walk alongside you during this weekend. We love you guys!
The all-star vendor team: My deepest gratitude goes to one of my closest friends, Molliner Photography, who flew across the country to help me with this wedding when I knew the scope was more than Thomas and I could handle as a two person team. I know I’m not “supposed” to give credit to other photographers on the team – but your help went beyond that – and deserves to be recognized. Also, a huge thank you to Thomas to kept me calm during this epic weekend and who handled a flat tire when I simply became too overwhelmed. Thank you, thank you!
