David and Jay brought such a fun, playful energy to their Rodeo beach engagement session in the Marin Headlands. We had a blast! It was heartwarming to hear more of their story and see their adoration for each other clear as day in front of the lens. I know it can be a little intimidating to be in front of the camera, but David and Jay leaned into it and we captured some photos that I absolutely adore. And – we got some of the most beautiful weather for their session. So thankful as the California coastline can be unpredictable.

David and Jay’s story began in January 2020 when they connected on Tinder. Their first date unfolded in the cozy ambiance of a dive bar, setting the stage for a connection that would blossom into something extraordinary.

Hailing from central New Jersey, Jay’s move to San Francisco in the fall of 2019 for a job at a biotech startup was not just a career shift but a serendipitous turn leading to the intertwining of their lives. While David, originally from outside Chicago, had contemplated a move to New York City before meeting Jay, their connection was a game-changer. Love took precedence over geographical considerations, and David chose to stay in the Bay Area, embracing the newfound joy that Jay brought into his life.

Jay’s heartfelt request for David to be his boyfriend took place in the enchanting beauty of Big Sur (one of our favorite spots!). The love story continued to unfold in Italy during the summer of 2022. Cycling, a pandemic hobby turned passion, brought them to Ravello for a bike tour. It was there that David was surprised by a heartfelt proposal in a charming Italian restaurant.

David and Jay – thank you so much for allowing us into your lives! We had the best time in Marin with you both and cannot wait to celebrate alongside you in May! You two are the best!
