Kathryn and Truman celebrated their love in a wedding that seamlessly blended classic elegance with a modern twist – filled to the brim with black and white details, and hints at their story in politics. The day was a perfect reflection of their unique journey. Guided by the expert hands of Stephanie from Cole Drake Events and adorned with Jennifer Cole’s breathtaking floral arrangements, the Fall Stanly Ranch wedding boasted a color palette of timeless white and black, complemented by bridesmaids in shades of blues and greens.

Underneath the sunny November sky, Kathryn looked radiant in her Sarah Seven A-line wedding dress with a v-neck, paired with a pearl headband. Her bouquet of anemones added a touch of sophistication, perfectly mirroring the couple’s vision for their wedding.

Hailing from Alaska and Southern California, Truman and Kathryn’s paths converged in the heart of Washington, D.C., at the White House Bowling Alley. The engagement came as a Thanksgiving surprise in 2021 in Sonoma, where Kathryn’s family resides.

Given Kathryn and Truman’s backgrounds in politics, their love story was intricately woven into the day with unforgettable details. From a donkey partaking in cocktail hour to a fun seating chart and uniquely named signature cocktails inspired by their careers, every detail resonated with their shared passion for politics.

The reception took place in Stanly Ranch’s iconic Glass Barn. The design was marked by modern minimalism, featuring hydrangea floral runners, black taper candles, napkins with luxurious black edges, and black-rimmed chargers. Black accent chairs added a modern touch, creating an atmosphere that was clean, classic, and undeniably romantic. The two tiered cake was so smooth and classic – with the perfect anenome accents to tie in the bride’s bouquet. The dancefloor was packed all night! Kathryn and her dad kicked off the reception with a playful, choreographed dance and the guests kept it packed all night. Towards the end of the night, Kathryn slipped into a short sequin dress!

Kathryn and Truman, thank you for inviting us into your lives for this chapter. We had so much fun exploring areas of DC with you both and having the opportunity to capture your story. I know you two will accomplish big things together! Congratulations!
