Allie and Jimmy are the best. They are compassionate. They have a sense of humor. They care so deeply for their friends and family. They aren’t afraid to chart their own path. They are thoughtful. And their Mountain Terrace wedding reflected all of those things.
Allie got ready in her family’s home in the south bay. She was so relaxed as bridesmaids and family members whirred by throughout the morning. She wore a two piece wedding gown with scalloped edging that couldn’t have been more perfect for her. In her bouquet, she had a horseshoe from Costa Rica (where Allie and Jimmy met and fell in love). Giving the bride a horseshoes on her wedding day is considered good luck!
Allie made her way up to Mountain Terrace in a vintage Rolls Royce that has been in her family for many, many years. It has been used in all of the family weddings, and Allie’s cousin has worked on it for years getting it in working order. How sweet that Allie’s parents got to ride with her up the mountain, in the very car that they rode away from their reception in decades ago.
Jimmy and Allie shared a first look in the redwoods on the property. The nerves quickly melted away as they held each other for the first time on this wedding day that they had eagerly anticipated for more than a year.
Friends are very important to these two – they had the largest wedding party we’ve ever photographed! Friends from childhood, friends from high school, family members, and friends from their time with the Peace Corps surrounded them throughout the day. The girls wore shades of blush, hues of yellow, and tones of orange. The gentlemen wore linen pants and shirts with monogrammed suspenders.
Allie and Jimmy exchanged personal vows beside the redwoods – the beauty of the bay area surrounding them. It was a touching ceremony. They planted a fig tree with the help of their parents – a nod to the grandmother’s that both had fig trees in their yards.
With their wedding taking place on 7/11 – Allie and Jimmy nodded to the convenience store with slurpies and flags. So fun!
The reception continued with a dozen toasts from family and friends. Many tears were shed and laughs were shared before everyone danced the night away in front of a live band.
At the end of the night, the newlyweds drove away in the family Rolls Royce – off to start this next chapter together!
Allie and Jimmy – you two inspire us all to be better people. The care and heart you have for those surrounding you is remarkable. I wish you two all the best as you begin this next chapter! Thank you for including us!
