Receiving inquiries like Jing’s fills my heart with so much joy! When she reach reached out, she implied that she was going to select her wedding date around my availability. She had found my work on Instagram and knew that she wanted me to be her wedding photographer. Seeing messages like that is so surreal as a photographer who has poured so much into this little business. It truly means the world to me that Jing and David worked around my availability for their intimate Chateau Lill wedding.
Jing and David have been dreaming of their wedding for the past two years. Of course, with the pandemic, their plans changed back and forth. With both of their families living overseas, they were trying to decide what to do, with international travel being so challenging right now. Eventually, they both agreed that they wanted to get married this summer and would celebrate with their families when they were able to visit.
The story of how these two met is kismet. David is from England, and Jing from China. In 2013, they met in Canada during an academic conference trip. They met during a party towards the end of the event. Even though they didn’t talk much, they made an impression on each other and soon began exchanging emails and post cards. In January 2014 they started dating long distance. Over the years, they’ve lived in Philadelphia, Chapel Hill, College Station, and are now settled in Seattle where they got engaged in 2018.
Watching the joy these two shared during their wedding day was so special. They would exchange cheeky inside jokes and both start laughing. It is clear that they are so comfortable with one another and are happy together!
Their intimate ceremony was held in the redwoods on Chateau Lill’s property. Red, pink, mauve and white flowers filled the ceremony arch. The officiant wrote a beautiful ceremony filled with personal touches that told the story of the love the Jing and David share.
Jing and David, I’m so, so happy that I was able to be with you two and celebrate! Thank you for treating me like a friend and welcoming me into your event. You two are perfect for each other – and I’m so happy that your story unfolded the way it did. You two deserve all of the happiness! Thank you, thank you for making an impact on my life and allowing me to pursue my dream.
