I am so proud of Megan and James. They have been wedding planning during such a challenging time – and at the last minute – anther huge hurdle was thrown their way and they handled it with grace. Just days before their Lake Tahoe wedding was supposed to take place, wildfires broke out in the area and forced a mandatory evacuation. James and Megan quickly pivoted their event and had a San Francisco Fairmont Penthouse wedding. It was not an easy decision, as they had to adjust their guest list down from 200+ to 41 people. However, they did it with smiles on their faces because they were getting married and they were so ready to take that next step together. Their marriage was the priority and they made it happen!
Megan got ready for the day in the Presidential suite at the San Francisco Fairmont. With sweeping views of the bay, we were all in awe as hair and makeup took place. James got ready in the Buckingham suite with his groomsmen. The wood paneling provided a sophisticated backdrop as they sipped on whiskey.
James and Megan shared a first look in a private corner of the garden terrace. Their smiles during that moment (actually – their smiles the whole day!) filled me with so much joy. The wind blustered around us and Megan’s veil was flying (literally – it flew off of her head at one point).
They exchanged their vows on the balcony of the San Francisco Fairmont Penthouse suite. Sweeping views of the city skyline in the background – it was gorgeous. The Penthouse itself is also a work of art! From the billiard room, to the library with a constellation map painted on the ceiling – no detail was left untouched in this iconic hotel suite.
Throughout the evening, the newlyweds received heartwarming toasts and the couple shared their first dance. The guest light may have been small, but the dance floor was packed all night. James and Megan’s spin move quickly became a signature.
Megan and James – congratulations to you both! I’m so impressed with the way you two pivoted your event in such a short amount of time. Thomas and I are so grateful we were able to be a part of it! Your families and friends were delightful – and photographing your wedding in the Penthouse was so fun! Thank you!
