Vo and Ching met in New York City while attending a mutual friend’s house warming party. After quickly bonding over their love for travel (they have both lived in different countries!) they started to date. After 10 years of dating, Ching and Vo were ready to officially take the next step on this adventure – they wanted to get married!

Ching and Vo were supposed to be one of my SF City Hall couples this year – but 2020 had different plans. Instead, they tied the knot on a video call one Tuesday in June between work meetings. They were gracious enough to invite me along to take some “just married” photos of them at one of their favorite spots along the coast where they regularly walk their dogs, Bento (Italian Greyhound) and Matcha (Chihuahua Mix). The day that we met for photos, Karl the Fog showed up and acted as witness, in true SF spirit. It felt so sad not to be able to hug my new friends and congratulate them on this moment, but I also felt incredibly thankful that I was able to get out and photograph love again after a four month hiatus. It felt so good to be behind a camera again and meeting new people!

Ching and Vo had the best energy! They were calm and collected, but also so happy and excited! They made each other laugh at all of the right moments. Of course, I loved meeting their sweet pups who photobombed many of the photos! And could the coastline of California be any more beautiful? I loved Ching’s dress that she wore with the circular detailing. And when the wind would catch it just right? Stunning.

Vo and Ching, thank you for being so gracious, flexible, and resilient during this time! Congratulations to you both on your marriage! I know that this wasn’t exactly what you expected when you decided to get married, but if you can make it through this, you can make it through anything! Cheers to you!
