Thomas and I were so excited to finally meet Olivia and Nick’s for their Central Park engagement session! We met early in the morning to beat the crowds and it was worth it! Definitely felt surreal to have some of these spots all to ourselves. I was so excited that their sweet doodle, Franklin, joined in for the fun too. These two were so fun and easy to photograph – they have the best smiles and shared so much joy! After our walk through Central Park, we headed to Grand Central for the rest of their session. It was a beautiful way to capture the hustle of this city – even during a pandemic.
Olivia and Nick met freshman year at Auburn. After growing up on the west coast, Olivia wanted to try something different, so she headed to the southeast. Originally from Chicago, Nick was drawn to Auburn for their sports teams and size of the university. They hit it off quickly and soon began dating. After graduation, they moved to Chicago for a few years and eventually headed to New York City, where they currently reside.
Nick proposed this past year when he and Olivia were visiting her family over on the west coast. The proposal came together quickly with the help of Olivia’s family. Together, they concocted an elaborate story about a made up soon-to-be-expiring gift card and all went to dinner at a well reviewed upscale restaurant. Olivia’s mom suggested the two of them go enjoy the view, and Nick took the opportunity to propose to Olivia. It was a wonderful evening where they got to celebrate immediately with their close family.
Olivia and Nick, it was so fun spending the morning with you and Franklin! Thank you for waking up early for us and showing us around your favorite spots in the city! The taco lunch was such a treat too. We are eagerly anticipating your wedding at Beaulieu Garden this fall with Cole Drake Events!
