Thomas and I were so excited to head to New York City to finally meet Emma-Lee and Griffin after months of anticipation. Speaking of meeting… these two shared one of the best “meet cutes” I’ve heard! Emma-Lee and Griffin were both studying abroad in Rome. They were in different programs from different colleges, but they rode on the same public bus as their apartments were next door. They began chatting and started hanging out together after classes. Soon, they were exploring Rome together regularly. How incredible is that?! They started dating long distance for a few years between Maryland and Florida.

Griffin proposed to Emma-Lee last April when they were visiting Emma-Lee’s family in Florida. He got down on one knee at a park where Emma-Lee grew up watching sunsets with her beloved grandmother and family.

They now live in New York City together, and it was wonderful to meet them there and explore the area for their Central Park engagement session. We met up in the morning and it felt like we experienced every season that NYC had to offer. It was warm, it was chilly, it was pollen season, it was windy, and it even rained! But, these two were amazing throughout it all and shared the best smiles! I’m so excited about the photos we got at Bethesda Terrace.

In the afternoon we explored the west village together, sipped on sangria, enjoyed tapas and chatted about family and NYC weekends filled with jazz concerts and baseball games. It was such a fun time together! And I was so grateful for a small sense of “normalcy” after the crazy year we’ve all had.

Emma-Lee and Griffin, we adore you both! It was so nice to finally meet you. I can’t wait for your Ringling wedding with Jennifer Buono Events next year! It is so clear how in love you two are. We are so excited to document this piece of your story for you. Congratulations!
