After sitting on the idea of this blog post for years, I’m finally putting our bucket list wedding venues out into the world today! These are the venues where we’ve been aching to photograph a real wedding (many of our photos below are from workshops or styled shoots). Any chance you’ll help us check one off our list??
A Chateau… in France… or Italy… or anywhere in Europe (Greece!!)
This one is pretty obvious. Shooting a destination wedding in Europe would be a dream come true. The history – the textures – the natural beauty of the property. I can’t think of a more romantic setting. These photos were from Chateau St. Julien.
Annadel Estate Winery
I fell in love with Annadel quickly. The ruins on the property are so appealing to me – a sense of a location that was altered but still preserved. And, the vineyards on the property are an added bonus! Update – checked this off the list in October 2022!
Casa Feliz
We never got to work at Casa Feliz when we lived in Florida, but I love how charming the space and colors are – brick with light teal accents! I can see an intimate wedding taking place right in the heart of Orlando.
The Corson Building
Another gem in the middle of a city – this one in Seattle. Typically an intimate restaurant during the week, the Corson building would be the perfect spot for a Seattle wedding under the stars.
Devil’s Thumb Ranch
A ceremony taking place with an epic mountain range in the background? Yes, yes, yes! Go ahead an add any mountain backdrop to this bucket list – with Devil’s Thumb at the top of the list.
Hammersky Vineyards
I love the placement of the vineyards against this white barn. The rolling hills creates a stunning backdrop for a wedding along the central California coast.
Holman Ranch
Holman Ranch will always hold a special place in my heart. Thomas and I visited California together for the first time in 2014, when I attended a workshop at Holman Ranch. It was on that trip that Thomas decided he wanted to live in California one day! We will be photographing a wedding here in October, and we couldn’t be more excited! This venue has it all – the views, the vineyards, the trees, and the beautiful textured buildings.
Kestrel Park
Kestrel Park is an iconic wedding venue in central California. A private property filled with an endless supply of stunning backdrops. As the sun sets, the golden field has the perfect warm light for sunset portraits.
Meadowood
Starting your wedding day with a round of croquet at Meadowood sounds pretty wonderful! The lush grounds of this property are a dream – and we’re so excited to photograph a wedding here in September!
Monet Vineyard
So much to love about this venue in the foothills of the Cascade mountains – the expansive grounds and that ivy covered house! I can’t get enough! What a dream it would be to photograph a wedding there! (has anyone picked up that I love photographing lush, green venues?)
Pippin Hill
Pippin Hill is one of the east coast’s most iconic venues. With the walkways lined with fluffy hedges, the beautiful barn doors, and the rolling hills… you can’t go wrong with this venue!
Sunstone Winery
A slice of Tuscany right in California. The light stone color of Sunstone Villa photographs beautifully. Add in the vineyard and olive grove… this venue is incredible! The expansive property allows for numerous diverse backdrops while still providing those iconic Sunstone Winery photos.
Vizcaya
Oh Vizcaya Gardens… what an incredible venue. With a waterfront view on the edge of Florida and perfectly manicured gardens, this venue is stunning. The ceremony location couldn’t be more beautiful and all of the textures in those staircases… any couple who has the opportunity to get married here is incredibly lucky.
So there you have it! Our bucket list wedding venues! I feel like I should also note that Bella Collina was on that list for awhile and we’ve since been fortunate enough to photograph two weddings there. Another slice of Italy right in central Florida!
Are you getting married at any of the venues above and still looking for a wedding photographer? We would be honored to work with you! Send us a message – we can’t wait to hear from you!
