I had been itching for Rich and Amelia’s wedding day to arrive ever since we headed home from Canada after their engagement session. Let’s be real, after just a few days, we were friends, and I’m pretty sure the feeling was mutual. But how could you not be friends with Rich and Amelia? Amelia has this laughter and personality that lights up a room. She is happy and so optimistic. Rich has an amazing sense of humor (he even tried to teach me how to be funny – I’m still working on that part…) and is a conversation ninja. Seriously. Together, these two are one of those couples that you feel like you’ve known your whole life (and you really wish you had known them your whole life). They just make you feel warm.
Their wedding day was perfect. Bright sunshine surrounded us, with a crisp breeze in the air. To start the day off, Rich and Amelia exchanged gifts before they saw each other. Amelia opened her letter from Rich, and watched a video that he had put together filled with clips from their whole relationship. She was radiating with joy. As if that wasn’t perfect enough, Amelia made a journal for Rich, where she documented the last 100 days of their engagement. Every day she would write in the journal and document the journey. Plus, she gifted him a surfboard, which is just icing on the cake.
We met in a nearby park to do their first look. The oak trees dripping with Spanish moss were the perfect backdrop. Amelia wore the most beautiful, simple and elegant lace gown. With pearled bobby pins in her hair, this girl was ready to get married.
Before their ceremony at the Atlantic Center for the Arts began, we walked around the property for the artists. The rich textures of the buildings and the walkways were beautiful.
The ceremony was held under a large awning. As Amelia made her way down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme song, Rich’s eyes welled up (umm, mine did too…) as he watched his bride walk towards him.
The rest of the night was filled with perfect and hilarious toasts, first dances, and endless twirls. This group knew how to dance!! The dessert bar blew everyone away! Their guest book was a bunch of patterned squares that guests wrote on that Amelia will sew into a quilt.
Rich and Amelia exited from the venue in a tunnel of glow sticks – it was an amazing ending to a beautiful day, celebrating the most wonderful couple.
Amelia and Rich, thank you so, so much for including us in your day. I can’t wait to see you all again. We truly felt like we were just part of the wedding party having the best time celebrating by your side. You two are the best! Congratulations to you both! Hugs!
