Kaki and Warren’s wedding day was one that I had anticipated and looked forward to for a long, long time. Kaki and Warren had been so pleasant and fun to communicate with throughout the planning process – always remaining optimistic despite the challenging circumstances that were being thrown their way. And, I knew that Darwin (their adorable Norwich terrier) and I would become close friends quickly. As soon as I walked through their front door on the wedding day, we started with a little snuggle session! When the pandemic shook the course of the year, Kaki and Warren did change their date in hopes of a solution to the current situation, but ultimately decided that getting having a Woodinville Lavender Farm micro wedding this year was important to them – and I was thrilled to be a part of their celebration!
Kaki got ready in their living room, with Darwin on her lap and her family chatting with her over video call. It was so nice that her family was able to be a part of the celebration in that way. After putting on her gown, she was able to have a first look with her family. It was a very emotional moment for all of us.
After exchanging gifts, we made our way to Woodinville Lavender Farm for their first look and ceremony. The lavender was in full bloom in July – which was such a treat! It was a warm, sunny day – something to be thankful for in the PNW! Warren and Kaki exchanged so much joy when seeing each other for the first time. It was as if they had made it through all of the obstacles that the year had thrown their way and they were finally able to take a deep breath and enjoy this day! They were getting married!!
I adore the way they incorporated so much color into their wedding design! Amy from Gather Design Company used an ample variety of flowers across the spectrum of colors – from corals and oranges to pops of purple – it was so unique and special! Their eight guests found their seats at the ceremony – flanked by lush floral arrangements. Kaki and Warren’s best friend performed the ceremony. My favorite part was the vows and ring exchange. Warren managed to memorize his vows – and he surprised Kaki with a wedding band during the ceremony. Warren wore his late grandfather’s wedding band, which is so special. A wonderful reminder of family and all of the love that has been passed down through generations.
After enjoying a few cocktails while watching the sun set, a few of the guests headed to The Herbfarm – a culinary treat in the Woodinville area. Although the day was not what they had originally planned, it was perfect in its own way!
One additional note that I would love to share – Kaki and Warren have decided to bring another Norwich terrier into their life (who can blame them? I need more of that cute nugget in my life). They were eagerly awaiting for another litter to be born and found out that the litter was delivered on the day of their wedding. How incredible that they have that additional pup tied with such an important date in their life.
Kaki and Warren, thank you, thank you, thank you. It means so much to me that I was able to be a part of your day. You welcomed me in as if we had known each other for years. The way you two make each other laugh puts a smile on my face! Congratulations to you both! You two are an inspiration! I’m so proud of how resilient you were in this time. I can’t wait to puppy sit!
