I wish there was some way to put Callista’s (Callista & Co) and Amy’s (Gather Design Company) talents into words. These two bring so much excellence, passion, and dedication to their work. The design is always top notch and their attention to detail is unparalleled (no linen goes unsteamed!!). Together, they are the dream team! They had booked a Bainbridge Island wedding at a private estate this past summer, and hired me to take detail photos for them. I was incredibly humbled and flattered! Of course I want to be a part of this event and capture their months and months of planning for them!
Libby Tipton created all of the paper goods for the Bainbridge Island wedding. The acrylic invitation was a modern touch, and acrylic was definitely a featured texture throughout the rest of the event. My favorite part of this suite was the “confetti” packet of dried flowers that included the couple’s wedding website to find additional details.
The wedding ceremony took place poolside on the bride’s parent’s property. Gather Design Company’s team created a floral arch where the couple would exchange vows. Ghost chairs flanked both sides of the pool.On the balcony of the house, guests sat in the “champagne garden” and watched the ceremony from above.
There were endless custom details for this event. The cocktail napkins included fun facts about the couple. The guest book was created from stacks of acrylic boxes that held flowers where guests could leave “words of wisdom” or “date night ideas.” Custom cocktails were passed throughout happy hours along with h’ordeuvres. As the guests transitioned from cocktail hour to the reception, a bag piper played a traditional tune, leading family and friends to the sailcloth tent and the incredible escort display. Libby Tipton created a nine foot wooden display that included each guests’s name. Guests would find their name and their corresponding table number.
Entering the tent through a double floral arch, guests found their seat at the extended tables. The most impressive aspect was the continuous centerpieces with an ombre effect. Set in white ceramic vessels, the flowers were designed to look as if they were growing organically right out of the table. The color tones shifted from pink florals to whites to blues and back to whites. It was unlike anything I had ever seen! At each place setting there was a custom acrylic name card that had been set with the same dried confetti flowers that guests found in their invitation.
It was truly an unbelievable wedding. So many hours of labor were put into this event and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to document it for the vendors that put so much heart into it. And, a big thank you to the primary photographer for the wedding, Summerr Rae, for letting me graciously shoot along side her for certain sections of the day.
