Sam and Mike’s engagement session was our final one of the year and they definitely helped us wrap 2021 on a high note with their Point Reyes engagement session! They wore cozy fall attire with layers of earth tones and were down to snuggle throughout the day to keep warm. They also brought along their French bull dog – Goose – for some of the session. He was a ham! Truly so well behaved and knew how to work it for the camera – so shocking as he is still a puppy! At the end of the session, we hiked out to watch the sunset along the Pacific Ocean. We were all in awe at the beauty that California has to offer. That coastline never gets old.

Sam and Mike both attended the same college, but never met despite the small class size. After they graduated, their paths crossed – quickly – at a dinner that one of their mutual friends was hosting. Three years later, they were reintroduced at that same mutual friend’s wedding. They hit it off and talked for hours. Soon, they began dating long distance. Eventually, Mike moved to New York City to be with Sam, and then they both made the trip across country to settle in the bay area.

Mike proposed to Sam in 2020 on a backpacking trip in Tuolumne, near Yosemite. I can only imagine how beautiful the view was in that moment when Mike dropped down to one knee.

We loved spending an afternoon with Sam and Mike – despite it taking a little while to find each other without cell phone service! They love to travel and adventure – it was so fun swapping backpacking stories and recommendations for future travel plans. We can’t wait for their May wedding in Marin with Jenn Robirds!
