Alexis and Jeremy opted to have a micro wedding in Pleasant Hill at their home after their wedding in Mexico had to be postponed. While this pivot wasn’t what they had initially hoped for, I’m so glad that they decided to still get married this year and celebrate! Micro weddings have been my silver lining of 2020. Each one has been so special and emotional. These smaller celebrations where the bride and groom can celebrate with each cherished individual remind me what weddings are truly all about.
Alexis wore a beautiful one shouldered BHLDN gown complete with an incredible bow. Her hair was pulled back in a sleek low bun that was accented with her fingertip veil. Sarah’s Garden Design made her a gorgeous bouquet filled with neutral flowers and fun textures – scabiosa, roses, fern, eucalyptus, tulips. Jeremy wore a navy suit and a fun floral tie. They saw each other for the first time during their first look shortly before the ceremony.
Their wedding ceremony was held in their neighbor’s backyard. Large arrangements flanked the aisle and guests sat in wooden cross-back chairs. Their sweet daughter acted as the flower girl. Could she be any cuter? Alexis and Jeremy shared their own personal vows with each other. My favorite part of the ceremony is when they each broke their own glass at the end of the celebration as a symbol of equality.
The reception was centered around three large farm tables nestled together under strings of bistro lights. Lush centerpieces and tall candles sat atop a gauzy runner. Guests enjoyed their custom cocktails by the pool as the sun set across the sky – painting it pink and orange. Alexis and Jeremy shared a first dance before sitting down with their guests to a delicious dinner under the stars.
Jeremy and Alexis, thank you so much for including me in your celebration! It was a pleasure getting to know you both and meet your families. Congratulations to you both as you start this next chapter together!
