Meghan and Mike are a super awesome couple. They fit together. They are natural and down to earth to the core. Sure – they broke a few wedding day traditions – but they were true to themselves and that is what truly matters.
Meghan and Mike were married mid-May at the Carlouel Yacht Club in Clearwater. It was the perfect spot – with the beach, the shaded walk ways, and the boats parked out back. The yacht club provided an elegant and timeless back drop for their wedding day.
Actually – all of Meghan and Mike’s day was elegant and timeless. Meghan’s dress was stunning with the low back and the lace. Her bouquet was filled with white flowers. Meghan wore her grandmother’s pearl earrings. Mike enjoyed wearing flip flops for the day (while Meghan enjoyed borrowing Crocs for a hot second).
Meghan and Mike opted not to have a wedding party. Not because they didn’t have close friends (quite the opposite) but because they wanted their day to be a little less complicated. It was really special to capture them enjoying cocktail hour with all of their close friends and to hear all of the toasts – which were delivered by anyone who wanted to share a story.
One other part of their day that I loved was when Meghan was getting ready. Her hair stylist asked Meghan who was doing the makeup. Meghan paused and said, “I didn’t really think about it – I guess one of my friends will do it for me. The hair stylist looked at Meghan and said, “Let me help you.” All of the girls in the room dumped their makeup on the counter and the hair stylist when to work with everything from Covergirl to Trish McEvoy.
The day was perfect – the rain avoided us, the ceremony was sweet, the sunset was killer, the crocs were rocked and the friends were all fabulous.
Meghan and Mike – we had such a great time celebrating your wedding with you! You were so fun to be with. We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to capture your day. Harry Potter stamps for life! 😉
