Payton and Luke’s Martis Camp wedding was a major highlight of our 2021! Even with many hurdles (postponements, forest fires, snow storms, power outages) they finally got to have their incredible wedding weekend surrounded by the people that mean the most to them. Martis Camp is a community outside of Lake Tahoe where Payton and Luke have spent many weekends together. They have created fond memories and it is a special spot for Payton’s family. Martis Camp is classy, sophisticated, and naturally beautiful without being over the top – which is exactly what Payton and Luke envisioned for their day.

They enlisted the help of Kyleigh from Audere Events to help design a three-day Martis Camp wedding weekend in the mountains of Truckee. The color scheme was pulled from the natural beauty of Tahoe – muted greens and blues. A few autumnal accents were brought in which tied in perfectly with the season (an unexpected bonus of postponing the wedding a few months).

Payton and Luke got ready on property – in the Martis Camp locker rooms. Payton was surrounded by her closest friends – from childhood to college. Payton has a quiet, confident spirit. She is kind and so generous with her love. It is easy to see why she had so many impactful women by her side on her wedding day.

The couple shared a first look before the ceremony. The love that these two share is so deep. They respect each other. They communicate in a real way. It is so clear that together, they are better. They’ve created an amazing community around them – they are the kind of people that treat you like family from the start. The world needs more of these two!

Payton wore a simple, sculpted Carolina Herrera gown (a designer that her mom wore on her wedding day – so she wanted to follow suit!) made of stretch crepe. She was a vision! Her cathedral length veil even had flowers stitched to the end. Luke wore a black tux with a striped white and blue button down. His cufflinks and tux buttons were made from cut stones and added an earthy touch to his sophisticated look.

The Martis Camp wedding ceremony was breathtaking. They exchanged personal vows in front of a large floral arch with sweeping views of the mountains. It was a dream! At the end of the ceremony, guests tossed rose petals over the couple as they recessed down the aisle as husband and wife.

After the ceremony, Payton changed into a custom silk gown by one of her favorite designers – Olivine Gabbro. It was the perfect fun, fitted, flirty gown for Payton to wear. The couple made their entrance into the reception in a vintage Bentely. Guests were greeted with a champagne tower and found their seat at one of the beautifully adorned tables in the tent. It was truly a remarkable event!

Payton and Luke, we are so, so grateful! Thank you for trusting us to document your wedding weekend and for being flexible with us when covid had many other plans. We appreciate you and your grace. You two are an inspiration to so many – young and old. I can’t wait to see what you two accomplish together!
