While we were in Oahu, we were fortunate enough to photograph two amazing couples! (A special thanks to Stamas Events for connecting us with Cheyenne and Brennan!) Cheyenne and Brennan wanted to have a Makapuu Beach engagement session with us and I think they picked the perfect spot!

Brennan and Cheyenne have a whirlwind of a love story! They met last year through a dating app. After meeting at Starbucks, they knew this relationship was worth pursing. Shortly thereafter, these two went to dinner together and spent six hours talking. Despite some distance (Brennan is in the Navy and had to move to Norfolk shortly after meeting) they continued talking every day.

During the holidays, they spent almost every day together before Brennan packed up and moved out to Hawaii for his next term. Needless to say, both Cheyenne and Brennan knew that what they had was the real deal, and it would only be a matter of time until Cheyenne packed her bags and made the trip out to Oahu as well.

This past June, Cheyenne headed out west and on July 4th, Brennan proposed on the top of a mountain overlooking Honolulu. I can only imagine how stunning the view was! Hawaii took my breath away every day!

Cheyenne and Brennan were such troopers for our sunrise engagement session at Makapuu Beach. The wind was strong and the sun was bright, but these two champed through it all! I love the way Brennan made Cheyenne laugh throughout the morning.

After Makapuu Beach, we drove to Bellows Beach on the Air Force base. We saw some incredible mountain views and the water there was the most perfect shade of blue.

To finish off the morning, we grabbed some “Portugese donuts” at Leonard’s Bakery. I’m not going to lie, I’m not a big donut person (mentally preparing to be shunned by so many of you) but these were good!!

Cheyenne and Brennan, thank you so much for allowing us to document this stage of our life in your beautiful new home! You’re both so fortunate to spend nearly three years on this incredible island. We loved getting to know you two and wish you all the best as you continue to prepare for your wedding celebration! Hugs!
