I’m not sure how to say this without sounding totally crazy, but I fall in love with all of my couples. They all have beautiful stories. They all have unique mannerisms. Different nicknames. Silly quirks. Each couple is different, but ultimately, they all have something in common – they are in love.
I fell in love with Lauren and Dave before I really met them as a couple. To avoid a super weird and convoluted story, I’ll just go ahead and say there was some facebook creepin’ involved (it was me doing the creepin’…sigh) that led to a very long-winded email. A month later – there we were – taking some engagement photos for Lauren and Dave.
When we all met in person, they were even better than I had expected. The way these two moved in front of the camera was remarkable. They were so comfortable together. I love the way they snuggled and fell into natural moments. Not to mention, they are adorable!
Lauren’s brother was Dave’s college roommate. Ultimately, that led to a conversation that went something like, “Hey, your sister is pretty cute.” A few years later, here we are!
Dave’s family is from Italy. This past October, he and Lauren made the trip across the pond and visited his homeland together. Dave knew it would be an epic time to propose, so he went ahead and brought a beautiful ring across the Atlantic as well. He took Lauren out to dinner at a restaurant that looked over Florence. Being a little nervous, he was a bit clumsy that evening – spilling the bread and the salt shaker (hey, can you blame him? It is a nerve-wracking moment!). After dinner they went for a walk. Dave took Lauren to a historic monastery. Someone was having a nice long chat on their cell phone, and Dave decided this wasn’t the spot. They took another loop and found a spot overlooking the city. He made his move – before anyone else interrupted – and asked Lauren to be his wife.
Dave and Lauren, first of all, thank you for not thinking I’m too crazy. We really loved spending some time with you! I’m sorry it was so cold out – but you two rocked it! Thank you for being awesome, and we are so stoked for your wedding! Hugs!
Thrilled to see this session featured over on Orange Blossom Bride!
