Annie and Kyle are such good people. Having the opportunity to meet couples like them is why I’m so grateful for this career! They are hilarious, welcoming, passionate, adventurous, and make time for the important things in life. Over the last year, they stood by each others side as they navigated some of life’s hardest hurdles. And on top of that – wedding planning came with its own set of challenges for Annie and Kyle. Just months before the wedding, they scrambled to find a new wedding venue when issues arose with their first one. Thankfully, a beautiful resort in northwest Tahoe was available – complete with the most stunning ceremony backdrop. Annie and Kyle wanted their Everline Resort wedding to feel like guests were enjoying a day among the Swiss alps – complete with wildflowers.
After taking portraits with each other and their intimate wedding party, Kyle and Annie exchanged personal vows with the snow-capped mountains in the background. The little moments of laughter that they shared throughout the day were my favorite.
While their precious cats couldn’t join them on the Everline Resort wedding day, the couple’s love for cats made an appearance in forms – from signature cocktails and cocktail napkins to homemade limoncellos with the name “moltigatti” (or many cats in Italian). Annie and Kyle harvested the lemons from their own backyard and spent a year preparing the limoncello. To kick off the reception, every guest poured a shot and toasted the couple. Kyle and Annie cut their three tiered vintage-inspired wedding cake as the sun set behind the mountains.
Kyle and Annie shared their first dance to the song “In Spite of Ourselves” – filled with lyrics that made every guest crack a smile. The party kicked off from there as guests enjoyed the live band and raged during the rap songs.
I have to say, my favorite part of the celebration was actually the next day! While they were expecting to float in Lake Tahoe with guests after becoming husband and wife, the weather had different plans. Annie and Kyle met up with close friends and spent the morning skiing down the slopes in hilariously casual wedding attire. It was so fun!
Annie and Kyle – you are such a delight. We truly feel inspired by your love for each other, your adorable home, your sweet cats, and the adventures you two have shared. I hope that we can find some time to backpack with you both and laugh until we cry. We love you guys!
