I have a beautiful Treasure Island wedding to share with you today. I got goosebumps numerous times while editing this stunning wedding. (Yeah, it was that good!)
De and CJ met through mutual friends (or, almost family?). CJ’s big brother in his fraternity at UF was married to De’s older sister. CJ saw a photo of De and said, “Who is that beautiful girl?”
A few years later, De made a trip to Gainesville to spend the weekend floating down Ginnie Springs and that is when the spark happened. They connected instantly and CJ knew the stakes were high according to his “big brother” and De’s sister…they were either getting married…or the alternative wasn’t pretty.
CJ had a good feeling in his heart and knew it would be worth the risk. De was perfect in every way – she had a sense of humor, she was intelligent, she was motivated and to top it off, she’s stunning.
Their relationship endured quite a bit of long distance – from Tampa to Celebration, but when the time came from CJ to move to Ohio for a job opportunity, De knew where she belonged – right by his side.
In Ohio, they’ve built their life together from day one. It was a new area for both of them and it quickly brought them even closer together. They love being outside, they lobster, they canoe, and they hike.
A little over a year ago, CJ was ready to propose. He had an elaborate plan. They were going to be in Florida, he hired a photographer to capture the moment, and made dinner reservations.
He only had the ring for a few days and it was burning a hole in his pocket. A few days before he was planning on proposing, De and CJ went on a walk and had a deep conversation about their relationship. CJ embraced the moment and proposed. While the initial plan was “ruined” it was all for the best because their flight was canceled regardless (they did eventually make it to Florida, but they would have missed their dinner reservations 😉 ).
Fast forward to April 18, 2015 – their wedding day. De and CJ had the ceremony and celebration on Treasure Island at the Sunset Beach house. I have to say, this wedding felt like an all day party! Everyone was happy, everyone was toasting, and everyone was celebrating! It was an awesome group of people – the family and wedding party were so supportive and excited that these two were finally tying the knot.
Here are a few of my favorite parts of their day:
- De’s succulent bouquet – love
- Hints of Hamilton throughout the day – the knit flower, the ties, and CJ’s new watch
- Their perfect first dance
- De’s beautiful one of a kind dress – buttons and lace, you can’t go wrong
- The soft coral and teal color pallet
- The accidental vow sneak peak
- The fact that CJ tried to kiss De as soon as he read her his vows
- The string lights – I’m such a sucker for those
- The popcorn bar
- The dancing – all night long!
- How absolutely perfect these two are for each other
De and CJ, we loved being a part of your day! You two fit so well together and share so much happiness. I loved your positive energy! We’re so excited for you both – have the best time in Greece on your honeymoon! Congratulations!
