Molly and Sid’s Country Club of Seattle wedding at Restoration Point on Bainbridge Island was our most fun and upbeat wedding of the year! It felt like everywhere you looked there was another meaningful detail or bit of entertainment to keep the guests engaged. And of course – Molly and Sid’s energy can’t be topped. The wedding took place on Restoration Point – a historic piece of land located on Bainbridge Island where Sid’s family owns a home. If this waterfront property’s views of Mt. Rainier and the Seattle skyline didn’t make it special enough, it’s also where Sid proposed to Molly and their wedding story began.
Molly wore an elegant white v-neck gown with lace accents and plenty of petite buttons to show off the back. She carried a lush bouquet filled with a variety of colorful blooms that was created by Tamara from Simply by Tamara Nicole. Sid made his way over to the property for the first look. Emotions were running high, anticipation was building – but watching these two explode with joy after seeing each other for the first time is why I love what I do. They held hands as if they had just sprinted across a finish line at a marathon – “let’s do this!” This whole day had that kind of energy.
As guests arrived, they were welcomed with champagne (complete with edible flowers), linen parasols, and paper fans (in shades of blue) to keep them cool as they enjoyed the waterfront ceremony. Molly and Sid’s adorable pups made an appearance as the ring bearers. They exchanged vows under a birch chuppah that framed Mt. Rainier in the background. After stomping on the glass and sharing their first kiss, they lead their guests in a second line to cocktail hour.
Guests picked up a custom cocktail in a floral filled canoe on their way to cocktail hour. They were entertained by a magician who pulled off some of the craziest wizardry I’ve ever seen. A falcon and owl wrangler also wandered throughout the event, allowing guests to hold one of the beautiful birds. In a tribute to Sid’s mother’s favorite tradition, guests took lavender lemonade shots and threw the ice glasses at a brass bell along the water.
The reception continued under a lovely sailcloth tent. Once the champagne tower was filled, the festivities only continued from there – “laugh ’til you cry” toasts, a first dance complete with twirls and dips, a never ending hora, a beautiful sunset over the water, a dress change (with the perfect puffy sleeves), espresso martinis, Fireball shots, late night Taco Bell, and the appearance of Larry Bingo – it was a celebration for the ages!
Molly and Sid – thank you for being such a highlight in our year. Unforgettable. You two have such contagious energy and we feel so grateful that we were able to play a small part in this chapter of your lives. Can’t wait to see you next time we’re in Seattle!
