Cait and Ben’s Zillah wedding was one that we were very excited about for a few reasons. We had never been to eastern Washington, so that was fun! Such a different environment out there! But, aside from that, getting to celebrate the marriage of two incredible people was truly special. Cait and Ben went out of their way to treat us like friends though out the whole planning process, so it was such a joy to show up on their day and feel like we had been reunited!
Cait got ready at a family friend’s vineyard. Looking out while getting her makeup done, she had the most incredible view! Rows and rows of grapevine. Cait put on her wedding gown and all of her bridesmaids lost it – the tears started rolling down cheeks. She looked stunning! The lace detailing around the train and on the bodice was incredible. The gown fit her perfectly.
Ben and Cait shared a first look among the vineyards. Starting with their backs to one another, they both turned around simultaneously so they could each enjoy the moment! Shortly after, the wedding party joined us as we made our way to a local lavender field. I was in my happy place – so many of my favorite things just a short drive apart!
The wedding ceremony took place in Cait’s parents’ backyard. With mountains in the distance, and vineyards hugging the rows of chairs, it was a beautiful site. Even after having a first look, Ben shed a tear or two as Cait made her way down the aisle. Two family friends acted as officiants for the celebration (and flipped a coin to determine who was the lucky one to sign the license!), sharing stories of how they knew the bride and groom. Ben and Cait exchanged personal vows, again, both struggling to hold back tears.
The wedding reception was held outside at Two Mountain Winery. The tables were set with bud vases and gold flatware. I loved the cross-back chairs and string lights! The guests enjoyed quite a dining experience! The meal was cooked over a fire pit throughout the day – roasted pig and chickens! Salmon cooking deep in the embers as well. Pineapple was strung over the fire! I had never seen anything like it!
The evening continued with toasts, first dances, cake cutting and the most gooey brownies (yes, I enjoyed one!). Everyone tore up the dance floor as the sun set over the vineyards. Guests gathered around the firepit and enjoyed the rest of the evening together.
Cait and Ben, thank you, thank you for everything! You two are something special… But you already know that! We appreciate your kindness and generosity and I truly hope this is just the beginning of our friendship! More clams, tacos, boat rides, cabin weekends and dog dates in our future please! Congratulations on this next step together! We’re so happy for you both!
