Moving our business across the country has been quite a ride. California has introduced us to some incredible people. I’ve made fast friends with so many inspiring women in this community – which I’m so grateful for. But, along with all of the good, exciting changes, there were also all of the overwhelming, scary, and exhausting tasks. I was proud of the marketing I had done in Florida and I felt like I was really finding our dream couples there. Starting from scratch in a new market was daunting. I reached out to Natalie Choi, a wedding planner in the bay area, to see if she would help me design a shoot for my brand, to help me reach my ideal couples out here in California. After a lot of great options, we finally settled on a charming venue in Santa Rosa and began to plan. Almost a year after my first meeting with Natalie, I’m excited to finally share this Annadel Estate Winery wedding inspiration with you!

Natalie Choi’s designs are always modern, romantic, and minimal. She knew that I loved color, and although that isn’t typically the direction she goes, she worked with me to incorporate just enough pop! She incorporated juicy, citrus tones and breezy, ocean colors to create a laid-back California vibe.

Kelsey Malie created a beautiful wedding invitation suite for the shoot. The torn edges and the watercolor art were my favorite elements. Her calligraphy is just exquisite. This suite set the tone for the Annadel Estate Winery wedding with its romantic design.

Our bride wore a Marchesa gown with an illusion neckline and tiny tassel-like appliques. I loved how her hair was styled – and that she wasn’t afraid to have shorter locks on her wedding day. She pulled one side back with a bejeweled hairpiece. By now, you know that if Gather Design Company was involved, the bride is going to have some killer florals! The bouquet was filled with garden roses, ranunculus, sweetpea, lisianthus, and silene. I love how delicate the bouquet is without being too petite.

The ceremony and reception were held in the vine covered ruins on the Annadel Estate property. The ceremony setup was simple – as if the flowers were growing directly from the space. For the reception, we used a pale blue Tuscany linen from La Tavola as the base. The wishbone chairs gave the space a more organic, relaxed aesthetic. And the warm-toned centerpieces with lush blooms welcomed each guest as they found their seats.

I want to say thank you to everyone that brought this shoot together! This shoot had its challenges – over 100 degree heat and a vendor’s sprained ankle just to name a few – but it came together beautifully. I’m so grateful for my friend Nathalie Cheng for stepping in at the last minute when we needed an extra set of hands. I hope I can repay the favor some day.
