March 5, 2019
Our first wedding of 2019 was a perfect one – I knew it would be! Florida welcomed us back home and it felt wonderful to be back in the sunshine. I had missed it! Thomas and I were so excited to see Josh and Julianne again after their Paris engagement session! When I saw Julianne for the first time, she and I both teared up. It was one of those moments that made me love this job even more. Julianne and I had become so close over the course of planning her wedding. She even called me when I announced we were moving across the country – I’ll never forget the fact that she took the time to pick up the phone and ask me how I was feeling – not as a concerned bride – but as a friend. To say that I was excited to be there for their Bok Tower wedding would be an understatement!
Josh and Julianne were initially against doing a first look, however, they changed their mind over the course of planning their wedding day once they realized the impact that it would have on their timeline. I don’t like to pick favorites – but their first look was one of the best! They met under the arch of a tree that had fallen down during a hurricane. When Julianne asked Josh to turn around, he immediately broke down (as did I!) in such a visceral reaction. It was so raw and real.
Julianne wore an elegant lace sleeved gown with an illusion back – complete with buttons. She looked beautiful. Her hair was down in loose curls, with a single clip keeping her hair back. Josh wore a navy suit complemented by a silver tie and pocket square.
Their Bok Tower wedding ceremony was held up by the carillon – at the sundial overlook. Julianne’s father performed the ceremony – which made it so much more special. Their love story was intertwined with their vows – and we even got a shout out during the ceremony (that was a first)! I love how these two incorporated family members into their readings and made it so personal to them.
The reception was held in the visitor’s center. Julianne and Josh had a sweet first dance. The evening continued with toasts, dancing, and lots of cake! At the end of the evening, a tunnel of guests threw bird seed as the couple excited for their honeymoon in St. Lucia!
Josh and Julianne, on our flight home when I was culling through the images, Thomas looked over to me and said “they are so smitten with each other.” I’ve never heard him use that word before…. so I know he doesn’t use it lightly! It is so clear that you two are so happy together. The joy you share radiates to everyone around you. We are so, so thankful that we had the opportunity to celebrate with you on your wedding day! Thank you for including us. We can’t wait to see you again – hopefully sooner rather than later!
