I’m truly over the moon to share this Paris engagement session with you all today! Someone pinch me! I still can’t believe this even happened – so I guess I’ll start with that story! Julianne and Josh came over to our apartment for their consultation right after running a 5k . The conversation was easy with them. Thomas and I aren’t big runners, so I’m always curious to hear what motivates couples to do races like that. They soon explained that they were training for a half marathon in Disney – and another in EuroDisney. Thomas and I had a moment in the kitchen where we exchanged furtive glances. “Euro Disney… as in Paris?” And once that was on the table there was no way we weren’t meeting them there and taking their engagement photos in Paris!
To back up a bit, Julianne and Josh were set up on a blind date through a mutual connection. After the blind date, they set up their “real first date” at Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales. Bok Tower is actually where they’ll be getting married next spring (and also where Thomas and I got married – I knew we liked these two right from the start!). Josh proposed to Julianne at Disney last spring after finding the perfect ring!
Leading up to our engagement session in Paris, Julianne and I exchanged numerous emails. She was so on the ball and organized – I was impressed! To start their engagement session, we met them before sunrise at the Place du Trocadero, for an incredible view of the Eiffel Tower. Julianne wore the perfect French blue dress to make her eyes pop and Josh looked sharp in his blue and white striped shirt!
From there, the day was truly a whirlwind. We took (what felt like) every mode of transportation to explore as much of the city as we could in one day. Occasionally we would put the cameras down to actually sightsee (they all appeased me by visiting my favorite chapel – Sainte Chappelle). Otherwise, we were roaming Jardin des Tuileries in search of the perfect light, climbing the steps of Montmartre, eating the perfect French bread and eclairs in parks, getting off of the Metro at sketchy stops (unknowingly), making pitstops for coffee at quaint cafes, and looking out for the best views of the Eiffel Tower. Throughout the whole session, these two were incredible! They would laugh easily with each other and it is clear that they’re the real deal! Josh was such a sport (he champed up for this marathon session) and Julianne has the best smile! At the end of the day, we put our feet up in our airbnb (apparently we had managed to walk 13 miles!) and then enjoyed a superb French meal – complete with escargot and the most delicious burrata cheese.
Somehow, they were still ready for round two the next day before our flights and I wasn’t complaining! We went to the outskirts of town to take some engagement photos at Parc Saint Cloud. It was the perfect location! It allowed us to get the look of Versailles without the crowds. The surroundings were both beautifully natural and also manicured. Truly the best of both worlds!
Josh and Julianne – I don’t even want to finish this blog post because I don’t want it to be over yet! Traveling with you and exploring the city was such an incredible adventure! We loved having you as travel buddies and as models for us throughout the day! You have the best attitudes and these images make me so happy because you can see how much you two adore each other. Can’t wait until we are reunited for your wedding at Bok Tower! Hugs!
A big thank you to Bajan Wed for featuring this on their site!
Are you hoping to have a Paris engagement session? If so, we would love to hear from you!
