Martine and Steve’s story gives me goosebumps every time I am reminded of it. It is no surprise, that I was covered in goosebumps quite a few times over the course of the day during their wedding at The Addison in Boca Raton. As a quick reminder, these two met at a bar in Chicago just over five years ago. Steve was out with one of his friends, and Martine was at a friend’s birthday. Martine had debated going out that evening, as her grandmother was sick, but Martine’s mom convinced her that staying in and missing out on her friend’s birthday would do nothing. Indeed that night was Martine’s grandmother’s last, but Martine and Steve know she brought them together as soon as she became an angel.
The wedding day started off early with hair and makeup. The girls got ready at a beautiful airbnb right on the water in Boca Raton. All of Martine’s bridesmaids wore their “squad” tanks and sipped along on mimosa’s. Robyn, the maid of honor, gifted Martine a scrapbooked filled with memories from their childhood.
Martine slipped into her lace fit-and-flare gown, as her bridesmaids anticipated the moment they would see Martine in her gown for the first time. Robyn carefully placed the beaded belt around Martine’s waist which completed the look! She looked gorgeous!
Steve and Martine did their first look at the Boca Raton Resort Waldorf Astoria (what a stunning hotel!). Steve’s smile radiated as he saw Martine for the first time! All of a sudden everything felt so real!
Shortly thereafter, we all made our way to The Addison for the wedding ceremony and reception. The Addison is a stunning venue with old world elegance and charm. The warm color scheme makes it feel so welcoming. Martine and Steve had their ceremony between the two huge banyan tress. They exchanged vows – and even a few promises regarding future golf games even made the cut.
One of my favorite parts of the wedding day was Martine and Steve’s first dance. They entered onto the dance floor while everyone was holding sparklers. As Steve twirled Martine around for their first time as husband and wife, the guests glowed in the background – such a fun use of sparklers!
The reception started quickly and continued late into the evening. The guests enjoyed a flavorful meal and tore up the dance floor – with bandanas and glow sticks! It was definitely a crowd that was ready to have a good time!
At the end of the evening, Martine and Steve exited The Addison on a golf cart complete with monogramed golf towels and a “Just Married” license plate! It could not have been a more perfect conclusion to the evening for these two!
Martine and Steve, congratulations! We are so thankful that we had the opportunity to celebrate with you all and your families. You two have such a bright future ahead of you – many rounds of golf and many trips exploring new countries! We’re so happy for you both!
