Emma and Corey found us on Instagram…can I take a second and talk about how awesome that is? In this huge wide world, an app filled with tiled images can bring people together from different states.

When they first reached out, I knew they were special. They shared details about themselves and their upcoming wedding that warmed my heart – and when we finally met in person – they did not disappoint.

Emma and Corey met online. Their first introduction has a different vibe depending on who you ask. Emma claims she was just trying to start a conversation, while Corey claims she insulted him. Emma was curious what someone could do with a history degree…and that’s how it started. An essay with the benefits of a history degree later, their relationship started brewing.

They finally had a date to meet! They were going to attend a white party together – you know, when everyone wears all white? Emma wasn’t totally sold on the idea, and she also happened to sprain her ankle that day. So, quick change of plans, and outfits, and they were off to watch a movie and enjoy a quick bite to eat.

Needless to say, these two hit it off and started long distance dating. They each moved to different cities numerous times throughout the process…Fort Myers, Miami, Atlanta, West Palm Beach – but finally they are together in the same city!

Throughout their relationship they talked a lot about “the future.” Emma said she didn’t want to get engaged until Corey had finished his degree, so Corey took that quite literally. He ended up popping the question just hours after his graduation and Emma was in complete shock, stumbling over her words she said “no, no, no” a lot but that quickly turned into, “yes – of course!” once she processed what was actually happening in front of her. Don’t worry – they have it all on camera, complete with a “Frozen” duet. 🙂

We had the opportunity to photograph their engagement session at the Ringling Museum and Ca d’Zan Mansion which was amazingly gorgeous. You should really pay it a visit if you haven’t. The grounds are lovely and it is right along the water. Take a peek at this session and you will see what I mean. 🙂
