Joyce and Waine are so sweet, and they have been so patient with us! We first got to know them last September and planned on doing their engagement session out in San Francisco at the beginning of the year. January rolled around, and, unfortunately, Mother Nature decided she had other plans for us (and by “another plan” I mean an “atmospheric river” – whatever that is!). Thomas and I stayed out a bit west of the city in this quaint little airbnb that was absolutely adorable – until the power went out for two days. Needless to say, it was a trip that I won’t forget, but unfortunately, the weather prevented us from taking any photos for these two during that time. So, we made new plans and when we headed out this May and the weather was absolutely beautiful!

These two have a very sweet relationship. They are so respectful of one another and you can tell by being with them that they care for each other so deeply. Waine and Joyce are incredibly hard workers and they have an inspiring determination.

Joyce and Waine are originally from the Philippeans, but they met in San Francisco a few years ago. They attended the same church, but officially met for the first time at the mall. On Valentine’s Day in 2015, Waine took Joyce out to dinner and proposed to her as they were waiting for dessert to arrive – talk about a sweet surprise! 😀

For their engagement session we had the opportunity to explore all of the great spots that San Francisco has to offer! We started the day by exploring Shakespeare’s Garden in Golden Gate Park. From there, we visited the Japanese Tea Garden in the park which was absolutely beautiful! It had so many natural trees and plants – there were so many picturesque corners to explore. Joyce and Waine also really wanted a few photos near a cable car – as their city is famous for them! We trekked through a good part of the city and found the perfect, empty cable car! Totally lucked out on that one!

We met up again (after a tasty lunch) at the Palace of Fine Arts and Chrissy Field to finish off their session with some more iconic landmarks. It was such a fun day filled with so many perfect backdrops, and I feel so grateful for Waine and Joyce for showing us around their city!
