Michelle and Colton‘s Vinoy wedding was one that Thomas and I had been looking forward to since the moment we met them. There is something so fun about these two – they have a hilarious sense of humor, whether it be prank jokes or incredible dance moves. But at the same time, they have such a serious love and respect for each other. I’m so grateful that Thomas and I had the opportunity to be a part of their day!
The week of the wedding, the weather looked slightly ominous. A big storm looked like it was going to hit at the end of the week, and possibly continue into Saturday. As the wedding date got closer and closer, we all watched the weather more and more, hoping for the best. When Thomas and I arrived, the sky was cloudy, and a light mist welcomed us.
I spent the morning with Michelle and her bridesmaids as they had their hair and makeup done in the bridal suite. They wore adorable robes! Michelle has incredible taste – and her wedding was a reflection of that. Every detail had something extra special about it, whether it was the letter press invitations or the lace details on her wedding shoes (ugh – I literally dreamt about them the day before the wedding…).
Thomas spent the morning with Colton and the groomsmen. Michelle had gifted Colton a Rolex for the wedding day – talk about an incredible gift! Nothing says “time to get married” like a new watch! 😉
Before we knew it, it was time for the first look. The rain had come and gone just in time. We headed to the second floor mezzanine for these two to see each other for the first time. When Colton saw Michelle for the first time I got goosebumps – the joy on both of their faces was unbeatable! They opted to say their vows privately during the first look, which was so sweet! As they exchanged vows, the sun came out and poured down upon them. Needless to say, the goosebumps came out once again!
The ceremony was held in the Vinoy tea garden. The fountain was covered in greenery and roses, and the aisle chairs had garlands draping down their backs. Family and friends gathered to watch these two finally become husband and wife! The bridesmaids stood by Michelle in their lavender taupe floor length bridesmaids dresses. Everything looked incredible agains the pink hotel – and a blue sky even made an appearance!
After the ceremony, the guests headed to the Vinoy Sunset Ballroom on Snell Isle. The ballroom looked incredible! A long head table for the wedding party complimented the variety in tall and smaller centerpieces for the round tables.
I’m not sure what my favorite part of the reception was – the incredible band, Michelle and her father’s upbeat first dance, the incredibly touching toasts, the late night PDQ snack, or how the dance floor erupted when “My House” came on! It was a fun reception to say the least! The evening ended with sea of orange and blue (Go Gators!!) glow sticks. It was a perfect day!
Michelle and Colton – thank you so much for including us! I adored working with you over the last year – anticipating every detail. Your enthusiasm and excitement truly made this day even more special. I can’t wait to see what you two accomplish together as husband and wife – I know you two have a fun journey ahead of you! Hugs!
