Thanks to Covid, we waited almost two years to finally photograph Alex and Dominic’s engagement session. They had their hearts set on a San Francisco City Hall engagement session, and so we waited and waited until it finally reopened after being closed for over a year. Dominic and Alex lived in San Francisco for a few years before moving out to the east bay (we’re neighbors!) and wanted to document their time there. The day of their session, it was a typical San Francisco summer day – foggy and cool. Alex and Dominic said, “This is perfect – so many of our memories have this iconic weather as the backdrop.”

Alex and Dominic met through a mutual friend, who introduced them when she found out that Dominic and Alex were both working for the same company. They hit it off and began dating! For the proposal, not only was Alex surprised with a ring in the James Turrell sky space at the De Young museum, but Dominic also managed to pull off a surprise engagement party that same day!

After being engaged for over a year, and with so much unknown, Dom and Alex decided to get married last year during the pandemic. As crazy as it is, they got married on Zoom with their immediate family to celebrate (they certainly will have a story to tell about their wedding in the upcoming decades). After two postponements, they are so excited to finally celebrate with their friends this October in Lake Tahoe on the one year anniversary of their wedding!

For their engagement session, Alex wore a beautiful white dress with buttons down the front and the cutest block heels. I love the shape of her oval engagement ring – it just sparkled! Dominic wore a bright blue suit and looked so sharp. For their photos in Crissy Field, they wore neutrals and stayed warm in layers.

Alex and Dom, it was truly such a treat to finally photograph you both! You two are so easy and fun to be around. You two have been through so much during this planning process – the number of “speed bumps” you’ve had is overwhelming – but you’ve made the most of it and come together even stronger. We are so excited to celebrate you in just a few weeks!
