Emma-Lee and Griffin’s Ringling wedding in Sarasota was our first of the year – and I was feeling so inspired. Inspired by the way that the wedding pulled in so much of Emma-Lee and Griffin’s story, the colors, the vendor team, the venue. They were fortunate to have beautiful weather all weekend. What I found remarkable was how deep the love was – for the family – for their friends – for the bride and groom. It was clear that these families were knit so tightly, but they also made room for guests (and vendors like us!) to feel like family. That is the best feeling.
Emma-Lee and Griffin met while studying abroad in Italy. Despite the fact that they were from different schools, their paths crossed on a local bus and they quickly connected. They fell in love during their time there. With Italy being such a big part of their story – they wanted to incorporate it as a big theme for their wedding. It feels like every major decision was made with their story in mind.
The invitation suite from this wedding truly set the tone for the guests. Complete with velvet-like letterpress and a juicy envelope liner, everyone knew this wedding was going to be something special. Each guest received a bottle of homemade limoncello after checking into their hotel. Those little details, make all the difference when creating a cohesive, special guest experience.
Emma-Lee got ready alongside her bridesmaids (3 of them are her sisters!). Her brand new 10-day old nephew was also close by for the festivities. She gave both her parents heartfelt gifts that morning that had everyone reaching for the tissues. Emma-Lee has the biggest heart, and goes above and beyond to connect with people on a deeper level. Her parents had a surprise of their own… a vintage Rolls Royce was waiting for her in the valet circle to take her to meet Griffin for their first look!
Griffin and Emma-Lee shared a first look in the Ringling couryard. The Ringling is a stunning property filled with Italian art. It is a gorgeous, creamy shade of pink. When these two saw each other for the first time, tears began rolling down their cheeks. It is so clear, that when they are together, they both feel grounded and settled. The nerves disappeared and were quickly exchanged for excitement as they held each other.
The ceremony took place at the top tier of the Ringling courtyard. A massive chuppah was adorned with greenery and florals in peachy, juicy tones. They incorporated traditions from both of their religious backgrounds – uniting their families together as one. They exchanged personal vows that tugged at the heart strings. Hearing Emma-Lee describe her time with Grif in Italy, making wishes and tossing coins into the Trevi Fountain brought tears to my eyes.
Their Ringling wedding reception was unique. They opted for a cocktail style reception where guests mingled together rather than staying isolated at a single table. Each grazing station was filled with the couple’s favorite foods – Italian, Barbecue, and Spanish. As the evening continued, the couple did a champagne pour – toasting to the beginning of their marriage!
Emma-Lee and Griffin, thank you, thank you, for everything. You two were a delight to work with. Thank you for inviting us into your lives and providing book recommendations on the regular. Thank you for treating us with kindness and compassion. Your enthusiasm for life and for loving each other is really beautiful. Congratulations!
