I’ve been dreaming of shooting a Pinewood Estate wedding for years. I’m not sure if many of you know this, but Thomas and I got married at Bok Tower almost two years ago, and while I love our wedding day, it was hardly the day that we had planned on. Going back to that same place and photographing a wedding has been a dream of mine. Thankfully, I had the opportunity to work with Melanie Paige Events to dream up a wedding that was inspired by the terracotta tones of the Pinewood building and the colorful blue tiles that are scattered throughout the property.
Bok Tower is a hidden gem in central Florida. Based in Lake Wales, you don’t feel like you’re in Florida. The rolling hills and large oak trees are a stunning backdrop. Pinewood Estate sits on the back corner of the property and has its own charm. Tucked away and down a flight of stairs, the Mediterranean-style mansion is enchanting.
Andi Meija cannot create anything that isn’t perfect. She continues to blow me away with her talent of creating the most beautiful watercolor wedding invitations. Combining the delicate colors with delicate, straight typeface, her pieces are truly unbeatable. A combination of whimsical, romantic, and modern, they are perfect. The envelope liner was a favorite for me!
Our bride wore a layered gown with a subtle gray tone and stitched flowers from Olivia Bowen Bridal. She carried a garden-style bouquet created by Fern & Curl Designs. The yellow and orange hues were the perfect tones for this springtime editorial. The bride had her hair pulled to one side in loose curls. Laura Reynolds Artistry did a smokey eye to enhance the bride’s natural beauty.
In front of the mansion, the table was set flawlessly by Melanie Paige Events. The wicker chairs from The REVEL Co. were the perfect accent – light hearted and impactful. The blush tablecloth had a soft accent runner for a romantic feel. Gold flatware from Set Rentals framed the turquoise and white alabaster glass plates. A lush centerpiece and bud vases acted as a second runner for the table.
What would a wedding be without cake? Sweet Flours Bakery outdid themselves with a two-tiered cake complete with fresh flowers and a tiled design, as a nod to the tile found on the property.
A huge thank you to everyone that contributed and drove all the way to Bok Tower for this shoot! So grateful to meet new vendors and collaborate on this Pinewood wedding inspiration! See more from this session over on Grey Likes Weddings!
