When Laura asked me to take photos of her, her husband (J), and her pup (Jenny), I melted. There is no compliment greater than another photographer asking you to document her love with her husband. When she told me about her stunning dress, I died. And when she told me she only wanted film photos – I went to heaven.

Laura and J have an incredible story. A story that has developed over the last decade. Laura never guessed that the cute guy she said hello to on the first day at a new school would be her husband one day. (For the record – he ignored her. For the other record – he claims to have been stunned by her beauty. 🙂 )

Their story goes something like….becoming best friends, going through auditions (they’re huge theater people), heading off to different colleges, and discovering themselves. There were speed bumps and some forks in the road, but their roads eventually led back to each other.

Last month they celebrated their third wedding anniversary in New York City while they were on vacation. When they returned, we all headed south to Fort De Soto (after a chaotic day including a missing package and makeup being accidentally locked in a car) to document and celebrate their love.

Laura and J – thank you so much for including us (and the sweet goodies!) in your love story. Photographing you both was a dream. Happy anniversary to a wonderful couple that compliment one another and look so good on film!
