Intimate weddings have my heart. Especially when they involve a couple who is adorably in love and truly knows what a wedding is all about.
Kate and John live in the DC area and they met when the worked on “The Hill” together. The job that brought them into each other’s lives allowed them to grow as friends. Once their jobs took them down separate paths, their relationship truly blossomed. John works in digital marketing and is the editor of a comic book website (umm, how cool is that?) and Kate works in politics and is also a children photographer!
Kate and John had their wedding in Florida so that their grandparents could be there to watch them exchange their vows. And you know what? Family is what this event was all about. The day was beautiful, intimate, and fun for the whole family. Everyone stayed right across the street at the Sunset Inn & Cottages and headed right across the street to enjoy the ceremony on the beach.
Kate wore a beautiful tulle and lace dress. I loved watching the skirt blow in the wind as she and John danced! In her hands she carried a beautiful, garden style bouquet wrapped in beautiful silk ribbons. Her gorgeous naturally curly hair was half pulled back with the help of a golden hairpiece.
When John and Kate saw each other for the first time during their first look, they just hugged and hugged. There was so much excitement in both of their faces! It was absolutely adorable!
When it came time for the ceremony, family took their seats in wooden chairs. Kate and her dad made their way up the boardwalk. John and Kate exchanged personally written vows beneath a beautiful birch arbor decorated with florals. When they were finally pronounced husband and wife, John gave Kate the biggest kiss!
From there, we all enjoyed first dances on the beach, accompanied by a steel drummer. A toast was proposed and the bouquet was tossed! The evening ended with a beautiful sunset and some pie cutting in the pavilion. It was a beautiful day!
Kate and John, thank you so much for including me in your wedding celebration! It was such an honor to be by your side throughout the day. I loved how you two had the chance to truly celebrate your union in a way that represented who you are. Congratulations to you both – I hope our paths cross again! Hugs!
