Alana and Ben are such a fun couple! Just thinking about them puts a smile on my face. They are laid back and love to have a good time. When thinking about their engagement session location, Alana proposed Fisher Island as she and Ben have made amazing memories there over the years. The beaches have the most beautiful sand. The pools have sweeping views of Miami and the Atlantic. Some of the buildings include original architecture from the 1930’s. Needless to say, we were so excited to explore an island and check Fisher Island engagement photos off of our bucket list!
Ben and Alana met through their best friends at a local bar. After that night, they quickly became inseparable. Because they met in December, the holidays have always been a special time for them, and one of the reasons they decided to tie the knot this upcoming December. Over the past six years, they’ve conquered some long distance – between Florida, Texas, Ohio and Barcelona! Ben proposed on Captiva Island this past fall, while he and Alana enjoyed a private dinner on the beach. Watching the sunset together, Ben asked Alana to be his wife.
These two are incredibly driven. They both have ambitious careers and have pursued higher education and licensing exams. I am so impressed by their desire to keep on growing.
The day of their engagement session, Miami provided some windy weather with dispersed clouds. After enjoying crunchy rice for the first time (a must have – already trying to figure out where I can order more), we got started with their Fisher Island engagement session. Alana toured us all around to her favorite locations – a hidden door with the most beautiful stone columns, a pool with a skyline view, a secret rooftop terrace – we could have photographed them all day! We stopped briefly for a game of pool and even found some peacocks. Such a unique afternoon for us – and so nice to finally meet these two and celebrate their upcoming marriage!
Alana and Ben, thank you for welcoming us with open arms! Your hospitality is second to none. We feel so grateful that we were able to explore with you and document these moments in a location that was meaningful. You both were such troopers as we kept finding new pockets to shoot! We can’t wait to see you again in December for your wedding with Whitney Carillon Events!
