hen I got Danielle’s first email, my heart stopped. She wrote one of the most incredible messages that I’ve ever received, and I knew that we had to be a part of this girl’s wedding day! A few days later, she came over for breakfast and told Thomas and I her story.

We sat around our kitchen table for hours listening to her and Derek’s love story. Their story is anything but ordinary. Derek was interning in Florida when they met. They instantly fell for each other. Then, Danielle brought us back to present day and explained that she was actually packing up all of her things and moving to Colorado the next day. Derek was had been living out there for a few months and she was joining him! And you know what? I was proud of them! I feel like everyone has hopes and dreams of where they hope to live one day – but we often get caught up in the “what if’s” and the “but I just’s.” Not these two! They made the move and are happily living the dream out in the mountains!

Thomas and I got to venture out to Denver to meet them. We took their engagement photos in Rocky Mountain National Park – where we were all blown away by the scenery. The sun rose over the mountains, burning off the morning fog. Throughout the session, Danielle and Derek were just so happy to be together! Those few months of long distance really made them appreciate the special relationship that they have. 🙂
