I’m just going to go ahead and say it right now. My words aren’t going to be able to do this couple justice. There was something special about them from the very beginning. Something different. Down to the core, they are our kind of people. We met them out in Vail for their engagement session, and spent the afternoon playing foosball and racketball (yeah). When we first met them that day, they welcomed us with open arms, as if we were already the best of friends. They told us stories of their lives and their relationships. We adore these two.
Needless to say, when their wedding day rolled around, we were so, so excited to see them again!
To say that their wedding day was beautiful would be an understatement. The skies were blue and clear. Palm trees and sea oats lined the lawn at Carlouel Yacht club. Courtney got ready in a second-floor suite looking out over the water as she had her hair done. As soon as her setting curls were pulled out everyone said, “Yup, your hair is done. That’s perfect. Nothing else to do here!” And that was it. She put in some hairspray and rocked those glamorous waves.
Courtney’s mom helped her into her beautiful lace gown. It was such a sweet moment, as Kathy watched her daughter truly become a bride.
Kyle and Courtney decided to keep things traditional and see each other for the first time at the altar. Courtney had quite a long walk down the aisle, and Kyle’s reaction was truly priceless. Not going to lie, I started crying watching him. It was one of those moments that I’ll never forget.
The ceremony was beautiful and the sun shone down up them and all of the guests. There was a beautiful arrangement hung from birchwood branches. The wedding party looked on as these two finally became husband and wife!
The whole day had a subtle nautical theme, as the venue was right on the water. My favorite detail from the decor was the seating chart. Every guest received a compass, guiding them to their seat. The reception was beautiful! The centerpieces were filled with roses, hydrangeas, eucalyptus, and succulents (my favorite! Which I now have planted on my windowsill…). As all of the guests took their seats, the wedding party made their entrance, complete with Alabama and Lightning memorabilia!
A few hours later, a popcorn bar was set up, where guests enjoyed a sweeter, chocolate popcorn, or a spicy sriracha popcorn. Of course, there were gummy bears, marshmallows, m&ms, and chocolate bars to the side where you could truly customize the snack!
At the end of the evening, Courtney and Kyle left their reception through a tunnel of sparklers and made their way to a vintage Rolls Royce. Talk about an exit!
Courtney and Kyle, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! You two are incredible people and I can’t tell you how much you two mean to us both! Now, can you just move back to Tampa so we can actually hang out regularly? 🙂 Seriously though, I wish you both all of the happiness! You two deserve the world! Hugs!
