The day after Thomas and I got married, I woke up to an email from Carynn. She and Chris were planning on eloping at the same venue where Thomas and I had exchanged vows, just hours before. It was one of those moments where you get goosebumps on your arms and say, “this is happening for a reason.”

Carynn and Chris have a whirlwind love story, but a perfect one. They are each other’s person. They have the same hobbies. They love the same kind of life. They fit.

Chris and Carynn wanted to elope. And the way she described their day brought a smile to my face.

“We got to work picturing what our stateside elopement looked like to us. We decided we did want our family there but wanted it to remain very intimate. Just our parents and siblings. And since we’re both multi-generation Floridians with a passion for old Florida and the outdoors, we wanted a location that reflected us in that way. Bok Tower has been one of my favorite places ever since I discovered it after moving to Central Florida a few years ago. So it made sense to introduce Chris to my magical and special place early on in our relationship. He became enamored, too. So, aside from the fact that we know it will be beastly hot in June, we are excited to elope at Bok!”

Their wedding was just as they had described it to me. It was simple. It was intimate. It was beautiful. Chris’s father officiated the marriage. The ceremony incorporated a ring warming and handfasting celebration.  The day was happy, carefree, sweet, and joyful. It was perfect. Everyone that was there meant so much to Carynn and Chris. Watching the family members during such an intimate ceremony was so heartwarming.

Carynn and Chris, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day. It was such an honor, and it was a day that I won’t forget. You two are so special to me. I can’t wait to watch your family grow and witness your love deepen to a whole new level. Congratulations!
