Brittney & Mike: A Nashville Engagement

November 4, 2014

Brittney and Mike are perfect together. It is no surprise that once the idea of a romance between them appeared they went on date after date after date. Sure, there was a hefty drive separating them, but when they were reunited after their first hiatus due to distance, they were ready to give this a go at full force.

Envision a hilarious couple. A couple filled with wit, puns, rhythm, and rhymes. Mix in some sass, a delightful amount of orange and blue, and a splash of sweet tea – and you’ve got Michael and Brittney.

Michael participates in improv. Give him an item or a group of professionals and he’ll tell you exactly why 185 of them were denied a drink at a local bar.

Brittney is a crafter. She is a hand lettering artist. She plays on the creative cloud and writes copy with the best of them . Short stories to tag lines – she’s your girl.

Together, they are football fans. Both with fantasy leagues (I believe more than one). Rumor has it they played each other a few weeks ago. Winner got to pick the honeymoon location. Loser has to plan it. I’m still waiting to figure out where Mike has decided to go.

So, how did Michael propose? Well, it was quite a plan. He invited Brittney out on a date, and decided to go to the Top, as a way to re-live their first date. At the end of the meal, the waitress asked if they were interested in dessert or a drink. Michael pondered and asked to see the wine list. Brittney was a little taken aback when he ordered a bottle.

“Why would you order a bottle? Now that dinner is over?”

The waitress came over and presented Michael with a black box.

“What? Hipsters deliver wine in boxes these days?”

Michael presented the box to Brittney. She saw the wine label – with their initials, a heart, the day’s date, and four words. “Will you marry me?”

They hopped in the Top’s photobooth to document their day.

Brittney and Mike – we had such a great time exploring bits and pieces of Nashville with you both! Sharing belly laughs and delicious food that I’ll cherish for years to come. I can’t wait until next July when we are celebrating your wedding day together! Congratulations!
