One of my favorite places in California is Big Sur. The views are breathtaking – every time you turn a corner your breath catches with with another epic cliff scene. When Krista reached out asking for suggestions on where to take her photos with Colin – the top of my list was a Big Sur engagement session. An added bonus – it is beautiful all year long!
For this Big Sur engagement session we started at Shoal Cavern – one of the first spots on the iconic Big Sur drive. From there, we found a few other turnouts and stopped along the Bixby Bridge. Our last stop was Pfeiffer Beach – the keyhole rock is so unique and the prettiest spot for sunset photos on the beach. We all enjoyed a memorable dinner at Nepenthe – such a special restaurant to us as Thomas and I went there shortly after getting engaged. The views take me right back to that moment.
Krista and Colin met on a dating app – as so many amazing couples do these days – in 2016. They talked for hours on their first date – enjoying burritos from a local restaurant. Krista jokes that she always has a great “out” when a date isn’t going well – she has to get home to her two dogs. On this date, she did eventually have to call it a night to get her dogs – but she didn’t want the date to end. Krista and Colin quickly started dating and got engaged in 2021. They had a beautiful, laidback wedding in October 2022 that I wish I could relive every weekend.
Colin and Krista – thank you for your endless smiles and positive attitude! We loved working with you over the past year and feel so honored that we were included in this chapter of your lives. I can’t wait to get together in the upcoming months and have all of the dogs meet!
