Over the past five years, Cassandra (from Ever After Vintage Weddings) and I have worked together countless times. She has always been a huge source of support and encouragement! She even styled our own wedding! Whenever we work together, the rain often invites itself to be a part of the show – so we’ve started anticipating backup plans. 😉 This spring wedding inspiration was initially going to be in a large field with tall grass – light streaming through trees dripping with Spanish moss – but I would say our plan B in Cassandra’s studio worked out pretty well considering the storms that navigated through the area all afternoon! One thing I was really worried about is that Cassandra’s space only has one small window in the door. The space is lit with artificial overhead lights. But, I was pleasantly surprised to see the scans and I think the lighting looked great on film! It is always encouraging to push ourselves outside of our comfort zone and get positive results!
This spring wedding inspiration was inspired by a soft color palette and a patterned tablecloth! Cassandra knew she wanted to play with pastel florals and I knew that I wanted a linen with a pattern – an accent pop to try something a little bolder than usual! Cassandra created a loose, garden-style bouquet with an accent yellow peony! What a bloom! The bouquet was tied with hand dyed ribbons.
The sweetheart table with the patterned vine linen from Over The Top Inc. had a large, cascading centerpiece with greenery and an array of roses and astrantia. My favorite detail was the way the vines from the centerpieces wove their way up the candlesticks. Southern Chairs provided the vintage rentals, which were perfect for our springtime inspiration. The gold rimmed china was the perfect match for the flatware and chargers.
The invitations from Debbie Wong Designs played off of the flowers that Cassandra had selected for the inspiration. When styling, we incorporated greenery to tie in with the tablescape and bouquet. You’ll also notice a few lemons that appear throughout the photos as well, tying in the citrus throughout the rest of the shoot.
From there, we envisioned a care free bride wearing minimalistic jewelry and an almost bohemian wedding dress. The Bride provided a stunning Daalarna Couture gown with a tulle skirt (that was so fun to play with) and a woven floral top. The detail and quality is unparalleled.
Bella Ti Artistry embraced the playful springtime vibes and gave Kristin a high half pony and curled the rest of her strawberry locks. The natural makeup allowed Kristin’s hypnotic eyes and joyful smile to steal the show!
For dessert, we all enjoyed a beautiful two-tiered cake from Wander Whisk. Complete with gold leaf flaks and an asymmetrical rim, the cake was just as stunning as it was delicious! I loved the light-hearted design to compliment the spring vibes from this inspiration shoot!
Thrilled to see this shoot featured over on Hey Wedding Lady!
