April 13, 2017
I don’t think I could dream up a better way to wrap up our 2016 year! Thomas and I had the opportunity to ring in 2017 doing what we love to do with an incredible couple and a dream team of vendors!
There was a buzz in the air all day. The weather was gorgeous – the sun was shining and the air was crisp. When I arrived at the Lakeland Guest house, I was blown away by the adorable home and all of the beautiful bridesmaids! Kat sat in the dining room while her hair was being finalized and her bridesmaids steamed their colorful two piece gowns from BHLDN. Kat had given each of them a pair of colorful, chunky jeweled earrings that I am totally in love with! Each bridesmaid carried a colorful, textured bouquet created by the incredibly talented Ashton Events (who also planned this whole event – talk about power team!).
Kat’s sister and mom helped her into her mermaid style tulle gown that fit her perfectly! Wearing a cathedral-length veil in her hair, she was the most beautiful bride!
As Chad saw Kat for the first time down the aisle of St. Josephs, his eyes began to well. And I don’t blame him! Their ceremony was short and sweet – but it was one that I don’t think any of us will forget. The crowed cheered with joy as Kat and Chad kissed for the first time as husband and wife!
The party continued at Kat’s family’s house. The guests were welcomed by a string trio and custom hand-painted cookies. Kat and Chad shared their first dance and toasts were exchanged. The centerpiecce of the afternoon was the incredible four layered cake by J’aime Cakes which tasted just as good as it looked!
The couple exited for the afternoon through a tunnel of shakers – but that was just the beginning.
A few hours later, many of the guests returned to ring in the new year! As the sun set, the 4Rivers BBQ appetizers were passed among friends. There was even a taco bar (UMM – YES! More of those please!). The dance floor kept guests warm as the temperature dropped into the 50’s. Guests sported 2017 glasses, glow sticks, and New Year’s hats – it was quite the scene! As 2017 made an appearance, everyone raised a glass to the new year and the new Mr. and Mrs!
Congratulations Kat and Chad! We feel so, so grateful for you both, and even more grateful that we can call you friends. You two had such an incredible day and I’m thrilled that we were able to celebrate together. Cheers to you – and the new year! The best is yet to come. 🙂
