When I received Mary Kate’s email asking about fall engagement photos in Napa I immediately said, “Yes, please!” Being new to the area, we love any excuse to explore new spots in our state. We’ve only been to a few locations in Napa, so I was excited to see another part of the area. Mary Kate and Garrison were staying at Calistoga Ranch, so it seemed like the perfect venue to take their fall engagement photos. The leaves were changing and their earth-toned outfits couldn’t have been more perfect to compliment the vibes of the season.

Calistoga Ranch is a resort tucked away in the northern part of Napa. It has a small vineyard on the property close to the entrance, where we started their engagement session. The real gem of the property is the lake where many of the Calistoga Ranch weddings take place. It was the perfect backdrop! As the sun set, the lights in the restaurant across the lake lit up, and I love the reflection it created.

Mary Kate and Garrison are both originally from Texas, but they met their sophomore year at the University of Arkansas. They were introduced t a few times casually over the course of a few months, and eventually developed a friendship, spending more time together regularly. Their senior year they officially began dating. Garrison proposed back in May at one of their favorite rooftop bars. Mary Kate was definitely surprised, as it was a location they frequented regularly. Now living back in Dallas, they’re planning their wedding for next November!
