When I think about Nicole and Jarrod’s Bok Tower engagement session, I just start smiling. Thomas and I had such a good time with these two! It was one of those days where the light was beautiful and these two were doing so well that we literally lost track of time because I was so excited (true story).
But let me back it up a little. When I received Nicole’s inquiry in my email, I knew she was special. She spilled her heart out in her message and I could tell she was just beaming with excitement at the thought of marrying Jarrod. She and Jarrod met at a Ray’s game. Even though it was during a time when Nicole was shoulder deep in work and studies (for The Bar!), she and her girlfriends made it out to the baseball game, as all of the proceeds would benefit the families of the Orlando Pulse tragedy. Jarrod was also out with friends to support the community that evening. In the 7th inning, these two both were up on one of the decks enjoying the view and grabbing a drink when they struck up a conversation. Needless to say, the conversation continued until the end of the game and neither of them wanted it to end. They exchanged numbers and their story started from there.
Late last summer, Jarrod and Nicole decided to move in to an adorable home in St. Pete together. As if moving isn’t stressful enough, these two decided to have a house warming party (nothing like some pressure to get everything organized). Meanwhile, Jarrod had another idea in mind for this housewarming party – a surprise engagement party as well! Somehow he pulled Nicole away from unpacking and convinced her to go down to St. Pete Beach with him to watch the sunset. He proposed – complete with champagne – and of course their friends and family loved celebrating with them at their new place after the fact!
Nicole is a very organized, thorough bride – which I absolutely love. She’s also incredibly enthusiastic and have such a warm smile! To top it off, she also loves TJMaxx and Target (I think a shopping date needs to be put on the calendar….). Plus, she and I have the same earrings (and now the same shirt – thanks to me running out and buying a shirt she wore to their engagement photos…). Clearly a friendship is happening and I’m excited about it! Jarrod is soft-spoken but thoughtful. Sports are his jam – and I can’t believe we managed to drag him out for engagement photos during the NHL playoffs! He was such a great sport throughout the session (and our long drive to Bok Tower). I can tell how much he absolutely adores Nicole!
To tell their full story, we did take some of their engagement photos in the Ray’s stadium at Tropicana Field! It was such an incredible experience to be out on the field and see the sting rays up close and personal. The vastness of the field was incredible. I felt so small as we walked over the field. Of course, we had to snap a few where they first met, on The Party Deck. Check out those photos at the end of the post!
Nicole and Jarrod, we love hanging out with you both and I’m so glad we’ve had three chances to get to know you now (let’s get dinner on the calendar soon!). You two fit so well together. It was so easy to photograph you both because you were just so happy to be together! We truly loved both of our sessions with you! To say we’re looking forward to your wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts next March would be an understatement. Thank you again for including us in this adventure! Go Bolts! 😉
