Ashley and Matt met met for their Bok Tower engagement session in Lake Wales. Many of you already know, this is my favorite spot in Florida, so when they suggested it I was over the moon! There was something so different about Ashley and Matt. While I wish I could put my finger on it – I just can’t. I met them and instantly felt like I was part of their crew. That we had been friends for years. They welcomed me with open arms. They laughed and LOVED on each other in a way that was more than inspiring!

A few years ago, after Ashley’s birthday, she was talking to her best friend about how she was ready to settle down and meet someone. Ashley’s best friend introduced her to Matt, just three weeks after (talk about a good best friend!).

When Ashley described her first interactions with Matt to me during their session, I just had to laugh because I felt as though I could relate so well. Between the conversation around how to stuff a comforter into a duvet cover and the anxiety she felt before the first date – I paused and realized this is exactly how it is supposed to be. A relationship filled with laughter is a good one. During that first date, Ashley went to the restroom, looked at herself in the mirror and said, “I’m eating dinner with my husband right now.”

Two years later, Matt proposed on a dock, looking out over the water. Although it didn’t go exactly as planned, it was still a perfect moment. The antique-style ring Ashley wears is absolutely stunning.

I don’t know what came over me before this session, but I LOVED IT. I normally get anxious before shoots – running through poses and “what if” situations in my head. This day was different for some reason. But when I showed up for their Bok Tower engagement session, Ashley and Matt completely filled me with inspiration and energy (like, seriously guys, I was on some other level). These two were laughing throughout the entire session and made my job so incredibly easy. Also, can I talk about their outfits? Too perfect – can’t even handle it. I was touched by their story, and feel so grateful that I get to pursue my passion and meet people like these two.

Matt and Ashley, I feel like I’ve gushed about you two too much, but I mean it, I loved working with you two! I’m so glad that we’ve met, and that we are working together for your wedding (thank you Cassandra, for connecting us)! You two have an undeniable friendship and chemistry. I love your desire to support each other and travel the world. I can’t wait to see where your marriage takes you!
