Elizabeth and Raul have a storybook kind of love. High school sweethearts. Traveling the world together. Incredibly sweet gestures along the way. These two truly have a relationship for the record books! It is no surprise that their Ancient Spanish Monastery wedding was the perfect chapter to their story and that the whole wedding had nods to “love stories” along the way.
The day started along the water in the most gorgeous hotel room (umm, if anyone is in need of a “getting-ready-for-the-wedding hotel in the Miami area – The Diplomat Beach Resort has some incredible natural light – and views!). I started the day by taking some detail photos of her invitation suite. I’m going to take a minute to brag on A&P for a moment – holy beautiful! The letterpress and envelope liners stole my heart! I love how bright and colorful the invitations were! Truly a work of art!
Surrounded by her closest friends, Liz had her hair and makeup done flawlessly! Her wedding gown hung in the bedroom against a fun tropical print. Elizabeth’s mom helped her into her dress. With some subtle sheer lace and endless buttons, it was the perfect gown for her!
Raul and Elizabeth shared their first look at the Ancient Spanish Monastery. This venue was a dream. It almost felt as though I was at Hogwarts (probably why they picked it!). The historic architecture. The stone. The arched ceilings. It all took my breath away.
This couple fits together so well. They move together as one and are incredibly natural in front of the camera! I could have photographed them together for hours!
The ceremony was held at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church and had many of us laughing throughout the service. It was a beautiful tribute to the couple and taught us all that sometimes to move forward we have to work together.
The Ancient Spanish Monastery was incredibly beautifully set for the wedding reception. The hallways housed long farm tables, covered in garlands and floral centerpieces. Each table didn’t have a number, but instead was named after one of Liz and Raul’s favorite novels. In the center courtyard stood a cake with a topper that said “Always” as a nod to Severus Snape’s promise to Harry’s mother, as well as Raul and Liz’s commitment to one another.
The reception was filled with non-stop dance moves, incredibly touching toasts, freshly brewed lattes, a photo booth, and even late night snacks that were enjoyed by all! To say this day was beautiful would be an understatement.
Liz and Raul, we are so happy for you both! You two had such a wonderful wedding day and we are so excited that we were able to be a part of it! You two have been through so much together already, but I know the future holds even more amazing adventures for you both to share. Congratulations!
