This engagement session has been a long time in the making and I’m so excited that it finally happened!
We first chatted with Alexa and John about their wedding last July – but due to moves and deployments, we had to wait until April to actually take their engagement photos – and they were well worth the wait!
Alexa and John met out on the west coast – where they’ll be getting married this summer (woohoo!). When they first met, they both found each other refreshing – like a breath of fresh air! They quickly integrated into one another’s friends groups, but before they knew it, John had to move across the country, as he was stationed in North Carolina. They knew that this relationship was special, so they worked together to continue to grow over the next two years.
John proposed over Memorial Day weekend. Alexa and John went to the Snoqualmie Pass to see the waterfalls. Despite the fact that it was raining all day, they still had a great time. John and Alexa stopped at a restaurant that overlooked the waterfalls, as they had a booth by the window. At the end of the meal, John proposed and they enjoyed champagne in celebration!
Thomas and I headed up to North Carolina to meet Alexa and John for their engagement session. We traveled to Wilmington, a sweet little town right along the water. We explored the beautiful streets and found some beautiful homes as the perfect backdrop. These two are so photogenic and we loved being able to capture their spirits! We got to spend the entire weekend with them – and during that time we took a boat ride that had live music, ate fresh seafood, and played life-size scrabble in our “literary loft” above the local bookstore (Thomas and Alexa crushed John and I…).
Alexa and John, we are SO excited to see you two again in less than two months! You were both so fun to work with and we loved getting to know you! Thank you for showing off your corner of the country and letting us into your lives! We are so grateful for you both! Hugs!
