After a day of recovery and adventure, it was time to get the party started!
We caravaned an hour up the highway to the Terbodore Coffee Roastery. It was a beautiful spot! And what a unique idea – who doesn’t love coffee? We were welcomed by many dogs roaming the ground, proteas (South Africa’s national flower), and the smell of roasting coffee. Guests mingled over cocktails and stories were shared about Alana and Justin.
When it came time to dine, we all found our seats in the unique space. The windows were wide open and the tables had beautiful and simple centerpieces. Some of the chairs had even been upholstered with coffee bags. A delicious meal was enjoyed by all. Kinklip, pear pasta, and lamb shank – all of the meals were delicious.
Toasts were given – hugs were shared – it was a beautiful event to celebrate Alana and Justin’s marriage – three months after the initial event. They are such a sweet couple and deserve all of the support in the world. It is amazing what a great family and friend group they have. It was so fun to watch them being surrounded by love.
After the meal, we were given a tour of the roastery and learned all of the big secrets (just kidding). Who knew that coffee beans were pale and tan before they were roasted? It is amazing how specific the heating and the timing needs to be to creates the perfectly roasted bean.
Thank you to Justin’s parents for throwing such a beautiful event – and to the staff at Terbodore for being so helpful and informative!
Next stop on the trip? Safari!! (But not before a night filled with Pandemic, of course)
P.S. This whole batch is film – and Thomas shot almost all of it!! 😀
